Why were the singers locked out of their rehearsal room?
They missed the key change
Community Christmas Choir @ The Annunciation & St Cuthbert's 2024
Once again, this year, we are able to invite enthusiastic singers to join in with our home-grown choir as part of our Christmas celebrations at The Annunciation, South Kenton, and St Cuthbert's, North Wembley.
If you love singing carols and are happy to be part of a church service then we’d love to welcome you to be part of
the choir. Being able to read music is not essential. You also
don’t have to be a church goer. Our carol services are a real
community event and we’d love to make it special by having
a community choir for both churches. Dates are as follows:

Wednesday evening rehearsals:
6th November - 11th December: 7.00 – 8.30pm
(The rehearsals will usually alternate between the two churches. To start with we will have the first two at St Cuthbert's (due to decorating at The A) then alternate.)
Reminder: Choir Event Sundays 8th & 15th December: 3.00pm – 4.30pm pre performance run through and light refreshments. (here's hoping you can make both evenings.)
If you’d like to be involved and can make the dates… (We also have a WhatsApp group that all the parts for learning are posted on so you can practice in the car/at home! so if you can't make every date you can still be rehearsing away from the group).

Please see below for detailed explanation of the event and rehearsals.
A carol service is a time when the church traditionally celebrates with the local community the story of Christ, God's son, being born to bring God into direct contact with his creation. Carols and readings from the bible (lessons) telling the story have been sung and recited down the decades going back to King Henry VIII's times.
There are many people who, whether with a deep Christian conviction or a more casual link, enjoy engaging in this tradition and who want to share in the joy of the occasion. If you are one of those people and you love to sing then we'd love to share in this celebration in song with you.
The plan is to keep it manageable, fun and inspiring. So we have one longer rehearsal planned for a Saturday and a handful of Tuesday evening rehearsals. (as above)
With one final rehearsal on the afternoon of the events, we should be ready for the big sing up!
If you can't make some of the rehearsals, don't worry, the WhatsApp group recordings should help. Just try to make the majority of the rehearsals.
NB on the Saturday rehearsal there will be coffee and croissants first thing, comfort breaks with tea, coffee and water provided as well as a light buffet lunch to end our time together. Please bring a bottle of water with you to support all your hard work on the evening rehearsals.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Jacqui Goddard
