Community Christmas Choir @ The Annunciation

Once again this year we would love to have a home-grown choir as part of our Christmas celebrations at The Annunciation, Windermere

Avenue. If you love singing carols and are happy to be part of a church service then we’d love to welcome you to be part of

the choir. Being able to read music is not essential. You also

don’t have to be a church goer. Our carol service is a real

community event and we’d love to make it special by having

a community choir. Dates are as follows:

Community Choir event:

Please see below for detailed explanation of the event and rehearsals.

A carol service is a time when the church traditionally celebrates with the local community the story of Christ, God's son, being born to bring God into direct contact with his creation. Carols and readings from the bible (lessons) telling the story have been sung and recited down the decades going back to King Henry VIII's times.

There are many people who, whether with a deep Christian conviction or a more casual link, enjoy engaging in this tradition and who want to share in the joy of the occasion. If you are one of those people and you love to sing then we'd love to share in this celebration in song with you.

The plan is to keep it manageable, fun and inspiring. So we have one longer rehearsal planned for a Saturday (as above) and three Wednesday rehearsals.

With one final rehearsal on the afternoon of the event at 5.30pm, we should be ready for the big sing up!

NB on the Saturday rehearsal there will be coffee and croissants first thing, comfort breaks with tea and coffee provided as well as a light sandwich lunch to end our time together. Please bring a bottle of water with you to support all your hard work on the evening rehearsals.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Jacqui Goddard
